A modern look at a traditional vision describes my work.

About us:

After studying illustration a career followed in graphic design and advertising notably at British Rail in London, he continued producing scenic pictures for his own interest.

I realized early in my career as an artist that I wanted to paint breathtaking colors in a realistic and detailed style. I have adopted and developed as a foundation to my work. While art education provided me with many diverse techniques such as portraiture and marine painting, my interest remained solely focused on a range of fine art.

Howard treats his subjects matter with such warmth and good humor, employs a bold and often surprising vibrant range of colors and wields his brush with such energy and pizzazz, that his work is decidedly rooted in the 21st century. His new collection is one of the most exciting of the year in that it can sit comfortably within any interior, traditional or contemporary.

Waves and Elements represents a compelling tribute to the natural forces of wind, sun and sea from a master of the seascape genre.

His use of square canvases and illusionistic techniques, particularly his handling of the light, are intended to make the painting look as real as life itself, quite contrary to the modernists, who want to make their tricks obvious.

Time spent in the West Country and abroad has provided variety and depth to my paintings with Italy and particularly Venice being especially inspirational.

My work records intense colour, light and shade. The romance and drama of the Mediterranean has resulted in some of my most evocative pictures.

My paintings have been purchased for private collections throughout the world and have been selected for exhibition by the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Guild of Aviation Artists.
