Counselling , CBT and psychotherapy for individuals and couples.

About us:

I am a chartered psychologist offering face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples. My experience comes mainly from working in the NHS, and for the last five years I have been working as a counsellor in GP surgeries seeing patients with a wide range of issues. I also have experience of working as a volunteer counsellor in a local youth counselling agency, and have had my own private practice for 3 years.

Psychological therapy can help you deal with any difficulties, life issues or symptoms of psychological disorder. It may be that you have recently gone through a life changing event such as a divorce or career change and need help in coming to terms with it. You may be having problems in your relationship, or are feeling stressed, depressed or anxious. You can talk about anything that is worrying you in a non-judgmental and confidential setting.

However, counselling and psychotherapy is not only for resolving problems. It is valuable for anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and their relationships and improve their general sense of emotional well-being.

My training and experience covers a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy. In our initial session I will help you decide which approach is most suitable for you, perhaps integrating aspects from different approaches to create a unique blend suited to you and your specific needs.

I can offer short-term, problem-focussed (6-18 sessions) or longer term therapy as appropriate.

I am accredited by the British Psychological Society and abide by their Ethics and Code of Conduct.

My qualifications include:
*MA (Hons) Psychology (Cambridge 1998)
*PGDip Counselling Psychology (Roehampton 2003)
*MSc Counselling Psychology (Roehampton Univ 2005)
*PGDip Practice of Counselling Psychology (Roehampton 2008)
*Certificates in Couples Therapy, Substance Abuse and Play Therapy
