Reading, Berkshire ~ Fire & Security
Installation and maintenance of intruder detection systems, intruder alarms and building security.

About us:

Gem Tec’s customers are assured that all equipment will be suitable for its task, that it will operate reliably and that it will be professionally installed, supported and maintained throughout its working life.

Gem Tec values quality, reliability and customer satisfaction above all other considerations. Equipment is only installed if it has the proven ability to meet all customers requirements, and Gem Tec believes it will withstand all the potential circumstances inherent in the application.

Closed circuit television – CCTV – is now so generally accepted as to have become commonplace. There is little doubt that this widely available technology is having a major impact on the prevention and detection of crime, and many people now regard it as a ‘first line of defence’.

However, the easy availability of CCTV and the seeming simplicity of installation do not detract from some important facts. It still involves complex technology, and there are many options involving cost, quality, camera capability, power supply, system function, long-term reliability and ease of information retrieval. All these need to be addressed before and effective and economically viable solution can be proposed.

Automatic fire alarms are an essential precaution in almost any building, and have been shown time and again to have been a major factor in saving life and property

Commercial & Industrial Systems
We have wide experience of all the sensors and controls used in industrial systems, and will advise customers on the most effective and economical way to install and configure equipment. There are clearly wide variations in requirements, depending on the layout of a building, the number of occupants and the kinds of activity undertaken.

We will work in co-operation with customers Health & Safety executives and, where necessary, the Fire Service and Local Authority, to ensure our proposals meet the approval of local inspectors as well as providing the best possible protection for the people directly involved.

System Outputs.
Our work with fire systems includes interfacing them with other systems and equipment. Automatic telephone alarms, sprinkler system switching, mains service and hazardous process shutdown, automatic unlocking of escape doors and switching in of low voltage emergency equipment are some common examples.
