An event focused on making sure older Reading people needing care are treated with the dignity they deserve is to take place in the town centre.
Reading Older People’s Partnership has organised the event, providing an opportunity for open discussion between the partnership, the families and carers of people with dementia, as well as professionals involved in providing services.
The event is taking place at Greyfriars Church Hall, Friar Street, Reading, on Wednesday, February 24th, from 10am-12.45pm and is open to all.
Reading Discussions will focus on the national Dignity in Care Campaign, which aims to end indignity in health and social care services, by raising awareness and inspiring people to take action.
Julie Eden, Reading Housing and Community Care Strategy Officer, said: "The partnership wants to hear from people who have experience of being with someone who has dementia as they are often a vital part of the support network.
"Everyone has the right to be treated with respect and dignity in every aspect of their lives. The Reading Older People’s Partnership want to hear what has or would make the differences that mean a lot."
