A fun and information day for Reading Borough Council housing tenants is taking place next week.
Food, children’s fancy dress competition and a Reading raffle are just some of the attractions that will feature at Southcote Housing Advice Centre on Wednesday, October 28th.
People will have the chance to talk to Reading Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), wardens and their local housing anti-social behaviour officers about keeping the community safe.
Reading Neighbourhood officers will be on hand to give help and advice about housing and estate services, while representatives from the Council’s environment team will be there talking to residents about green issues. Tenants who go along to the event can enter into a draw to win a compost bin.
Age Concern will have a stand with advice and information for older people.
Deborah Edwards, Lead Councillor for Reading Housing, said: "I am looking forward to meeting all our Southcote tenants and residents at the Southcote Advice Centre. Let’s get together and have a bit of fun. There will be lots going on and I want to see you all there to take part. Meet up with me and speak to our PCSOs, neighbourhood officers, community bodies, wardens, the list goes on…. Finally, you have to be in it to win those prizes! See you on the 28th."
Southcote Fun Day takes place in Coronation Square from 10am-2pm. The fancy dress competition is open to children aged 5-11.
