New Look Reading Tennis Courts In Caversham

Reading Tennis fans are in for a smashing time at Christchurch Meadows thanks to a revamp of the old tennis courts.

Refurbishment work has now been completed, which has involved the removal and replacement of Reading chain link fencing, repair of smaller sections of fencing and also the installation of an additional gate and path allowing access for wheelchair users.

New tennis posts, sockets and nets have also been included as part of this project.

Now that new green paint for the Reading courts has been applied and the white lines painted, the courts are now ready for the public to use free of charge throughout the winter months.

Graeme Hoskin, Lead Councillor for Reading Culture and Sport, said: "I’m delighted that we’ve been able to revamp these tennis courts. They’re a really important and well used local sports facility and following these improvements I’m sure they’ll be more popular than ever."

The refurbishment of Christchurch Meadows tennis courts is part of Reading Borough Council’s Thames Parks Plan.
