Robbery in Forbury Road, Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Reading.

At around 2.20pm on Friday (13/4), a 17-year-old girl, from Caversham, was walking along Forbury Road and speaking on her mobile phone when a man on a bike came up behind her and grabbed the phone from her hand.

He cycled off but dropped the phone not long after, leaving it in the road.

The offender is white, 6ft, in his early to mid twenties and of average build. He was wearing a plain red baseball cap and dark blue jeans and was riding a red and silver bike.

Case Investigator Lorna Underwood, of Local CID at Reading, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident or the man on the bike in the area around the time of the incident, to contact police.

“I can confirm that the victim was not injured in the incident.”

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the offence, which left the victim shaken and upset. They would also like to hear from anyone who saw the offenders or the incident take place.
